Finally looking forward to things instead of burning through everything all the time

A funny thing happened today. I mentioned in a post earlier today that I left home for the second day in a row without my cellphone. Returned both days after 7 or 8 hours and noticed pretty quickly that it took me about 1 minute to ‘come up to speed’ with the things I’d ‘missed’ during that time. Turns out I’m not missing anything really of substance.

Well, the big surprise for me today was this:

After coming home, checking my phone and realizing all this, it was time for me to go run a couple of errands. Get this – this time, I didn’t even WANT to bring my phone.

That’s all it took: two days to break a habit of constantly have my phone with me.

The reason I didn’t want to bring my phone with me on my short errand run was because I’ve already started feeling better without the damn thing. And another thing, now I can ‘look forward’ to maybe getting some important or interesting notification or email or whatever ….. LATER.

Later. In a while. Tonight. Not now, now, now, now

Big tech and social media are killing us. Throw in some AI and your soul is suddenly at risk.

I look forward to a lot of things already. One of them is being reunited with my soul. I’m pretty sure the first thing I’ll say is ‘Hi there, I remember you.’
