Successfully installed Ubuntu Linux on my laptop. For now its a dual-boot situation as I evaluate which thangs…if any…I can’t get done with linux.
About 6 years ago I was producing my podcast on Linux. Everything worked great. But then I was hired for a few years to produce the podcast at Forum Communications in Fargo, North Dakota. In a nutshell, the company wouldn’t let me work on Linux. They said it was because they couldn’t support it, but I think they just didn’t have any experience with Linux.
It feels amazing to be back on an open source operating system.
I don’t know if these recent steps helped spark today’s experiment but, today I had to leave my home for about 7 hours. I decided to leave my cell phone at home. It was really nice. And of course when I got home I had no missed calls or texts anyway.
Freedom feels possible.
